not 100% sure this is the fault of square enix, but the issue should have been found and reported to Microsoft if the issue is the controller. this can be changed by plugging in the controller and running it in wired mode (updated firmware and the issue persists). Since i use a XBox series X controller i recently got, the game detected the controller but the mapping of the controller is outright off when in wireless mode. my problems started right after opening the game.
